Pioneer Week is a full week,  long term camping experience that is held at
Camp T. Brady Saunders in Goochland County Virginia.

Pioneer Week was designed to accommodate  those private school scouts, home
school scouts and troops or individuals that are out of school earlier than many
of the different school systems.  This year, Pioneer Week will run from June 10th
to the 16th.

Pioneer Week as its name suggests...is a no frills camping week with an emphasis
on Merit Badges.  All of the regular summer camp merit badges that are usually
offered in the Aquatics and Shooting Sports area as well as most of the other
merit badges normally offered during Summer Camp are available as well as
several Merit Badges not usually offered...like the Citizenship merit badges.

The Staff are all adult volunteers that have specialties in the areas that they
will teach.  National Camp School certified instructors will manage the Aquatics
and Shooting Sports and all food services will be managed by the professional
food manager that manages our regular Summer Camp.

COPE and climbing will be available if enough scouts sign up for this activity.

Normal Summer Camp fees will apply for this week of scouting and all requirements
for registration will apply...including signed permission and health forms.

An important advantage of this week is that individual scouts or several scouts
from one unit can attend without adult leaders.  These scouts will be assigned
to either a larger troop or if enough scouts sign up in advance...a special troop
will be set up for them.  There is no additional charge for this program. This
program is very important for scouts for example  who are home schooled but are
in an area that their regular troop is not planning on attending summer camp or
units with a very small number of scouts who also are not attending camp.

Come and join us this summer at Pioneer Week!!!!!
